CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. The farmer commits to providing members with high-quality, healthy, nutrient-dense, locally produced food; and farm members commit to the CSA, sharing the risks and rewards of farming by making an agreement with the CSA and paying for their shares in advance. The idea is to create mutually beneficial relationships between farmers and community members, guaranteeing a market for the farmers produce, and giving the members a direct connection to where their food is coming from and who is producing it.
