Some frequently asked questions about becoming a CSA member:

Q: We are going away for a week, what do we do with our share?

A: If you inform us ahead of time, we can either hold back the share and give you an extra at the end of the season, or if there is anything you would like a large quantity of throughout the year (for pickling, canning etc) we could supply you with that to make up for the missed share.

Q: Should I wash the produce that I receive?

A: Most of the produce you receive throughout the year will have already been washed on the farm, and we do not use any products on the farm that could be harmful to either people or the environment, so if you choose to not wash your produce it will be fine. That being said, washing all your produce before eating it is a good habit to get into, especially if you are also using things that came from a grocery store or another source where you cannot be sure of their production or shipping methods.

Q: What if I do not like some of the produce I am receiving?

A: If there are any veggies that you really don't like, have allergies to etc please communicate this with us at the beginning of the year and we will do our best to accommodate you. That being said, people often have an aversion to certain foods because they have either had bad experiences with them in the past, or they simply don't know what they are or how to prepare them. If this is the case, we urge you to give them another chance! If you receive a veggie that you are unsure of, try making a game of it with your family! Look into what it is and different ways to prepare it that you think you may enjoy. Also, we will do our best to send out recipes with each CSA share that include all of the different items and tasty ways to prepare them!

Q: Can we visit the farm?

A: Of course! If you would like to come for a tour of the farm and see where your food is growing, please contact us and we can make arrangements for it.
